halloween '09

happy halloween! this year isabel decided to be a bride after she and grandma bonnie found this dress that could not be passed up. she wore a tiara to school but people were mistaking her for a princess, heaven forbid, so we decided to opt for a flower instead.


after a long day of putting out fires carter decided it was time for a little trick or treating. he had such a good time but only made it to a couple houses before he packed it in to check out his loot. he couldn't believe that people were just handing out candy and all he had to do was say "twick or tweat" and "tanx".


and then there's spiderman. chandler had a great night! his favorite part was that grandma bonnie and grandpa brad came out to spend the holiday with us, it's tradition! he made out like a bandit after only a few houses and decided his super powers were no match for the cold and called it a night.

bel looked so beautiful that i got "a little" carried away with the camera, hopefully you will bear with me :)

we finally got our school pictures back and i am quite pleased with the results.

vegas vacation

scott and i recently ventured to vegas for some much needed "r & r", rock & roll, that's right! we went down to see one of our favorite bands, collective soul, perform at the hard rock hotel. i decided to get dressed up for the occasion
the show was awesome!

and of course, we had to visit the hard rock cafe for some yummy dinner while we were down there as well, it's tradition!

back to school

the kids are back to school and we are slowly getting back on schedule. bel was very excited to get crackin' on the books and be back with all her school buddies.

chandler was SOOO excited to start school (almost as excited as mom) so far so good.

desiree has to leave by 7am to get to school on time. although i was up to make breakfast for her by 6:30am, i forgot to pull out the camera. i will make sure to correct that asap!

happy 30th!

for the big 3-0 this year my family was awesome enough to pitch in for a ticket to miami where a couple of my bestest buds were ready and willing to take me in for a week, if they had only known :)

my first day mel got me right into florida culture by taking me on a trip through the everglades. i kind of thought, "boring, it's just a bunch of alligators" which it was, but something about seeing them in their natural habitat made it worth the trip. this is about as close as i was able to get to one, i only wish it had been the less smelly end!

they were all over the place, and they were all sizes too!
if you look closely you can see some babies in this picture, look for the stripes in the middle under the leaves.
that night they took me down to las olas, ft lauderdale for some yummy dinner and window shopping

these two are AWESOME!

we also went to key biscayne and climbed to the top of the bill baggs lighthouse.

you could see for miles in all directions, it was amazing!

this is a turtle nest we found on our way to the lighthouse, they were all over the beach.

many days were spent lounging at the pool, what a life, i could get use to this.

my last day we went to hollywood beach. it was great! mel and i got a whole day in of shopping and swimming. after lunch the waves got pretty high which was awesome and a little scary. i got bowled over pretty good a couple times, luckily the lifeguards insisted we stay close, just incase.

thank you mel and stephen for your awesome hospitality! the trip was just what i needed and i can't wait to come again. love you guys!

summer fun part 2

my favorite thing to do in the summer is lounge by the pool. we have yet to set up the big pool so we got a little one to get us by. the kids love it and so did the dog. carter got hold of the hose and that was it, he sprayed everyone and loved every minute of it.
